πŸ‚ September Crafts You'll Love

Hey Reader,

My husband has been the grumpiest I've seen him all year...and it's because the weather is turning colder here. He's a Summer guy, and it really does affect his mood.

But me on the other hand, I was built for cozy sweaters, comfy blankets and mugs of hot chocolate. Though I'll miss some the fun of Summer, I'm ready to embrace Autumn.

Now let's talk about crafts to make in September...

TODAY'S FREEBIE

My facebook feed is filled with first day of school photos. They make me so happy. Today's freebie is a little back to school activity...coloring pages!!!

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE BACK TO SCHOOL COLORING PAGES

Coloring pages are more than they first appear. Yes...you can just get out the crayons and have a blast with them, but you can also ramp up the fun with almost no effort.

Grab some things from your craft bag to add texture and interest.

  • Use small pieces of tissue paper, washi tape or torn pieces of construction or newspaper to create a mosaic.
  • Add texture with cotton balls, beads, etc.
  • Make stamps from pipe cleaners. Form them into shapes, dip in paint and stamp.
  • Get out the paints.
  • Go around the border with glue and then sprinkle with salt. Use watered down paints or colored water to color the salt.
  • Put paint into glue and outline the pictures. Once dried, color in the pictures.

I bet you have even more ideas. I'd love to hear them.

IN THE SHOP

Whenever a new school year starts, my OT hat goes on. I'm always thinking about all of the things that little ones need to know as they start a new year, and name writing is one of the skills they'll working to master.

Of course, I think that crafts make anything more fun, and they're definitely the perfect tool for learning the skill of name writing.

From a rocket shop to a crocodile to a pizza and so much more! You can make name crafts all year long. Holiday and seasons themes are included too.
